Made by Hand was created out of the belief that the things we collect, consume, use, and share are part of who we are as individuals. For example, the food that we eat says something about each of us, as do the tools we use and the chairs we rest on. Objects that surround the space we dwell in tell stories, and not just about us. Where did they come from? Who made them? How were they made?

Each film aims to promote that which is made locally, sustainably, and with a love for craft. Based in Brooklyn, the project takes its influence from the handmade movement here and elsewhere. We hope you find the spirit of it inspiring.

Everyone Forever Now is “an episodic motion-based media project” documenting different facets of our collective eccentricity. The project consists of three thematic films, each exploring a different cultural practice: tanning, stoop sitting and shooting a gun.Beautiful art direction.

What a nice combination, Harmony Korine (director of such films as Trash Humpers, Julien Donkey Boy, Gummo, Mr. Lonely) teamed up with Ninja and Yo Landi from the band Die Antwoord to create the short film “Umshini Wam”. On VBS TV.

Korine’s sixteen-minute short brings the audience to the fringes of society where Ninja and Yo Landi of Die Antwoord star as wheelchair-bound gangsters. Residing in the outskirts of civilization, Ninja and Yo Landi play trigger-happy, gun-toting misfits who bond throughout the film by sharing cartoonishly huge joints, sticking-up business owners, and seeking refuge and shelter in the woods. It is a tale of love and the struggle for survival. -VBS TV

Canal+ Spain and Madrid based agency Nadie have launched the new tv ident of the channel, a three short stories series about three blind people talking about images. (Spanish spoken)

“Refait” is a remake of the football WorldCup match between France and Germany (Seville, Spain, 1982). Shot by Pied La Biche in Villeurbanne (France), every aspect of the fifteen last minutes of the match was carefully reconstructed : players, positions, gestures, intensity, drama etc. It consists in shifting the traditional game area into the urban environment. Each sequence takes place in one or several locations and then the city temporarily becomes the lab for unsual experiments. The soundtrack is made up of the original commentaries mixed with interviews of the audience recorded during the shooting.
