Swallowable Parfum

Swallowable Parfum is a digestible scented capsule that works through your own perspiration. Once absorbed, fragrance molecules are excreted through the skin’s surface. A unique odor is emanated, depending on each individual’s acclimatization to temperatures, to stress, exercise, or sexual arousal.
This utterly intimate technology is being developed by body architect Lucy McRae in a collaboration with Harvard biologist Sheref Mansy.

The Antics Roadshow
Posted on Agosto 17, 2011
Documentary starting at 0:55 …(no comments)
An hour-long special made by Banksy charting the history of behaving badly in public, from anarchists and activists to attention seeking eccentrics.
Contributors include Michael Fagan talking about breaking into the Queen’s bedroom: ‘I looked into her eyes, they were dark’; and Noel Godin, who pioneered attacking celebrities with custard pies: ‘Instead of a bullet I give them a cake’.
Explaining his reasoning behind the show, Banksy said: ‘Basically I just thought it was a good name for a TV programme and I’ve been working back from there’.
Narrated by Kathy Burke and produced by Jamie D’cruz, The Antics Roadshow examines the stories behind some of the most audacious stunts of recent times and what motivates the perpetrators, from mindless boredom to heartfelt political beliefs.
It includes a world exclusive first interview with the man responsible for putting the turf Mohican on Winston Churchill’s head.

You Are What You Eat – MARK MENJIVAR
Posted on Julho 26, 2011
You Are What You Eat, a project by Mark Menjivar, is a series of portraits made by examining the interiors of refrigerators in homes across the United States.
He explains about the project:
For three years I traveled around the country exploring food issues. The more time I spent speaking and listening to individual stories, the more I began to think about the foods we consume and the effects they have on us as individuals and communities.
An intense curiosity and questions about stewardship led me to begin to make these unconventional portraits. A refrigerator is both a private and a shared space. One person likened the question, “May I photograph the interior of your fridge?” to asking someone to pose nude for the camera.
Each fridge is photographed “as is”. Nothing added, nothing taken away.
These are portraits of the rich and the poor. Vegetarians, Republicans, members of the NRA, those left out, the under appreciated, former soldiers in Hitler’s SS, dreamers, and so much more. We never know the full story of one’s life.

Lea Redmond – The World’s Smallest Postal Service

The WSPS began in 2008 as a quirky little social art project. Postmaster Lea Redmond sets up her tiny roaming office in cafes and shops in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond and offers a teeny tiny letter transcription service to passers-by. At these appearances the letters are transcribed by hand on a miniature, wooden roll-top desk in the tiniest of script, sealed with a miniscule wax seal with the sender’s initial pressed into it, and packaged up with a magnifying glass.

Artist Kyle McDonald has created software which photographs people using public computers as part of his project ‘People Staring At Computers.’
McDonald’s ‘photographic intervention’ took place after he installed the software on public computers around New York – including the Apple store – over three days. Taking a photo every minute, the application collected over a thousand photos of people at the targeted computers. Before posting the results on the project’s Tumblr page, the artist displayed the shots back to the unsuspecting photo-subjects using another custom-built application.
McDonald explains:
I decided to exhibit them in the same places they were originally captured. So I wrote another app that could be remotely triggered after being installed on all the computers in one location. When the app starts up, it takes a picture and slowly fades in that photo. A moment later, it starts cycling through older photos.
Most people instinctively quit the app less than 10 seconds after recognizing their own face, so the exhibition was relegated to the unused machines.
McDonald set up shop in a New York City Apple Store to snag all these pictures.
